The books are graphic, gory, profane and a "hell" of a lot of fun. Kadrey has mixed mythology, the Bible, Gnosticism and Milton into a rollercoaster ride of epic proportion. You'll alternately cheer for Stark and loathe him, just as you'll do the same for various demons, angels, God and Satan. Combine "Spartacus" "Men In Black," "Armageddon," and "Dogma" and you'll get a taste of these novels.

However, if you are easily offended by profanity or a very skewed way of viewing Heaven and Hell (and the creatures and deities within), these books are not for you. Be warned.
